The Challenge

Our client needed to migrate their existing US Fixed Asset function from a temporary Finance Team in Decatur, US, to a newly established Global Business Service (GBS) in Lodz, Poland. The company’s Fixed Asset Registers were split across 9 group companies valued at $917m. There were over 300 Construction in Progress projects valued at $167m remaining to be capitalised.

The Solution

We spent over 3 months in the US –

  • Job shadowing
  • Process mapping
  • Documenting tasks
  • Clearing a backlog of project spend to be capitalised

There followed 4 months of work, transferring knowledge and providing training to the new Fixed Asset Team in Lodz, re-defining best practice processes, and establishing new ways of working to improve performance and efficiency.
